Both living in Saskatchewan, but they both came back home to get married. Stephanie is a teacher, and Chris is a pilot. A time to celebrate a friendship, that turned into more than just friends. They celebrated their day with all of their family and friends present. Their day had a magical feel. I think it was the grey skies, and the rain. It certainly wasn’t cold. In fact the temperature was just right! The week before, was beautiful sunny. We went out and shot their engagement photos in a bright and beautiful day. And then Friday night, the weather took a turn for the worse. The forecast called for rain, and lots of it. I checked the weather network all night. I was also thankful for having a plan for rain. I never thought we would actually need it! You know, being August 7th!
Here in BC, you never know what kind of weather you are going to get on your wedding day. All of us kept positive, and wished and hoped for a sun-filled day. However, the rain arrived early in the morning and it kept raining for the whole day. It let up at just the right moments however. Just enough to sneak in some amazing images with a fabulous Mr. & Mrs. And then, the rain would start up again. I think the rainy weather made for a dreamy day. The rain helped to keep all of us cool, and keep the flowers alive and fresh for much longer than a sunny day. What I loved most is that nobody complained, or looked disappointed. Everybody was calm, and happy. A beautiful, perfect day for Stephanie and Chris. Rain and all. Remember not all brides have rainy day images. I think that is pretty special!
I had the pleasure of having photographer Geoff Heith along to second shoot for me! He kept me laughing the whole day, he held an umbrella over me when it poured down buckets of rain. Thank you Geoff! I am thankful he was there, and he captured SO many amazing images from Stephanie and Chris’ wedding day. He also was there to capture the guys getting ready, and their portraits. One of my absolute faves you will see in the gallery below is Chris jumping in the air! then he landed. Love it!
I had to also laugh at my hair. My hair went from flat-ironed straight, to poofy and crazy in the span of an hour. Ahhh, the joys rain.
Thank you Stephanie and Chris for choosing me to photograph your beautiful day. I am so honoured. I hope you both are having a fantastic honeymoon in Mexico!
Enjoy your sneak peeks.
delightfully,
cathy

The lovely Danielle of Soltura Photography asked me to be a second shooter for the wedding of Derek & Eliazabeth. Danielle and I have become friends through photography. The photo community out here is amazing for that. I feel so blessed to know her. She has an amazing eye, and she was a total blast to work with. You can see her images from the day here. Derek and Liz got married on Sunday, 23rd on a rainy summer afternoon at the Brock House in Vancouver. The wedding was to take place outdoors, but was moved inside. Equally as lovely. The day itself was beautiful, and the rain let up enough for some amazing photos! Congratulations to you both, and thank you again Danielle for having me along. Cheers to you all.
Oh what fun I had shooting anna & max’s wedding photos @ dundarave park back in May! Here is a sweet little video of there photos! See if you can spot Laura and myself.
It was filmed and cut by Adam Zanotto. I hope you both are enjoying the summer, and of course married life! Cheers!
I totally enjoyed our long weekend! We did a lot of packing on Friday, my husband did a lot of packing on Saturday, as I second shot a wedding at The Brock House in Vancouver with my friend, Danielle of Soltura Photography. Congratulations to Derek and Liz! Your wedding was beautiful. Thanks Danielle for having me along! I cannot wait to share a few images with you after Danielle blogs it first!

On Saturday, I along with Laura Hana. (who worked as my second shooter for the wedding, good friend and awesome photographer) had the pleasure of photographing Anna and Max’s Wedding day. We started at the Hilton Hotel in Burnaby while Anna, and her bridal party got ready. Next we photographed their church service. After their ceremony, a few family photos outside of the church. Next, we headed to Dundarave in West Vancouver for some fun photos with the bridal party! We then headed to Grouse Mountain and took the blue gondola up to the very top (The Peak of Vancouver) to the Grouse Mountain Resort (in the Timber Room, and most beautiful view of Vancouver) where they had their wedding reception. A wonderful room full of beautiful friends and family, and stunning details. Oh how I love the details of this wedding! And oh how I love Max and Anna. The love in the room was amazing.
You may recognize Anna and Max from an engagement session we did on Crescent Beach end of March. Congratulations Max and Anna! I cannot wait to share the rest with my wonderful wedding couple. I will blog another post just of the details!!
I loved capturing your beautiful day. What an honour.

Today a few of my images were featured on a really cool Canadian blog called A Million Little Details! If you haven’t gone to take a look yet, I suggest you do! Make sure you bookmark them too! It is such a beautiful blog, and features awesome content from Canada! Awesome. It is a pretty pretty blog! LOVE it.
The images were chosen from the Jessica Claire, OC Wedding Workshop I attended back in September 2009. I loved that workshop, and took away so much wonderful information. It changed the way I was shooting, and how I was running my photography business. I am forever grateful for the wonderful things that happened to me personally and professionally from that amazing trip to California. I cannot wait to go back!
Thank you Somer for featuring my images. I am glad you enjoyed them as much as I did.
Remember my winning couple Stephanie and Chad?! Well, they have been entered into a national contest, with some sweet prizes to be won! I would love it if you could help them win!
