My 5 words about my work
*Timeless
*Modern
*Warm
*Delicate
*Simple

Things people have said about my work:
Beautiful, artistic, tasteful, moody, clean

What’s most important to me:
My clients!! I am very passionate about my clients, and I personalize each session/event to my wonderful client/clients!

What’s cool about me:

My husband and I have six kids!!! 1 boy, and 5 little girls…Or maybe that is a bit crazy!

Favorite time of day:

When all of the kids are in bed, and I can get down to work (in complete and utter silence!)

Favorite restaurant:

I have many favourites! I really like Milestones!

What I do to get inspired:

Look through magazines, blogstalk, walk around, take a drive. Watch cool movies, with amazing colour and cinematography! Think Moulin Rouge.

I also have old classic masters to look to for inspiration such as Matisse, Van Gogh and Chagall.

What I do for fun:

Spend time with my family, head out to coffee with other fun photographers.

Non camera stuff in my camera bag right now:

A pack of gum, a Starbucks gift card and lip gloss.

Interesting Fact:

I am left handed, and now I have broken one finger on my right hand twice, in two different places. Most recently I sliced another finger (middle finger, right hand) while opening a tuna can! Needless to say, I haven’t made a casserole since!

Wishlist:

A couple more lenses, a hip slip, a new flash and a new laptop! (mac of course!)

What I want to shoot:

More boudoir (in interesting places!) and some fabulous weddings! Also, I would love to shoot a trash the dress or ten! I had a great idea today, and if you are interested and want to do something out of the ordinary, extraordinary! Please give me a call.

CATHY AND BECKER

Finally, I had the time to get the photos off of our point and shoot camera! The day after the Jessica Claire workshop in California. (I actually got to meet Becker (read, amazing OC wedding photographer) the evening of the workshop at the dinner at Jessica Claire’s place! I heard his voice, and voila there he was! So crazy neat!)

Let me back up, I belong to the The [B] School. And, if you are a photographer I REALLY think that you need to check it out, and get involved there! Becker’s vision and zest for all things photography is very inspiring to me! So, one afternoon on a live chat when I was in “Canadaland”, I asked Becker if I could take him to lunch, and he said YES! So, plans were made, and my husband Cliff and I picked up Becker from his house (his car was in the shop) and we headed to Javiers at Irvine Spectrum for an amazing mexican meal. And we talked, I listened, and we laughed. We ate. The meal there was so good! I just couldn’t get myself enough avocado!! LOL. Or enough of this amazing photographer! I never wanted the lunch to end!

I just couldn’t believe that I was there, and we had that time together. We sat there for about 1.5 hours. Plus driving there and back. I couldn’t believe I got to step into his work environment! So nice in there! It was wild!

I had been following Becker for quite some time, when I first started getting started in photography. Becker was also the first person I followed on twitter, and second person on twitter, Jessica Claire. So, to me this was almost better than Disneyland! Did I just say that? Our whole week away was just filled with many highs! Amazing!

So, after our mexican fiesta, Cliff snapped the photo of us at the mall. Quite the mall! Wow! Weren’t in little old Langley anymore that is for sure! This mall had a ferris wheel, a comedy club with awesome headliners, and a carousel!

So, I just wanted to say to Becker, thank you so much doing what you do. Thank you for starting such a wonderful community of like-minded photographers. And thank you for taking time out of your crazy busy life to spend a bit of it with us. Our lunch is something I will never ever forget!

I am so excited about what we talked about! It was just so inspiring, and just drives me to work smarter, and do what I need to do in our community!

See you in January for the Vancouver Workshop! And, please remember to dress warm! ;D

Cheers!

Cathy
